Meet Our Team
Tami Wenzl, M.Ed., DT, ITFS
Tami has worked in the field of education and early intervention for over 30 years. After graduating with a masters degree from UNC-Chapel Hill in special education she taught in the classroom before starting a career in early intervention. She continued her education at Ball State University earning an advanced degree in applied behavior analysis. She spent 20 years as a Developmental Therapist for Indiana’s early intervention program before returning home to North Carolina to open up Red Wagon Children’s Therapy. She uses developmental play and coaching during therapy sessions. She is passionate about creating a positive learning experience for the whole family.
In her free time Tami enjoys spending time with her family, visiting her adult daughters, cooking, reading and traveling.

What ages of children do you work with?
Birth to 3 years
How do I know if my child needs therapy?
An evaluation will be provided by the CDSA (Children's Development Services Agency). The CDSA is the local agency for Early Intervention in our community and is part of the statewide NC Infant-Toddler Program. The CDSA supports families who have children from birth to age three who have developmental delays or are at risk for problems with their development.
What types of disorders do you treat?
We see children with a range of developmental challenges such as autism, global developmental delay, cerebral palsy, sensory integration disorder and much more.
How long does each therapy session last?
Each session lasts from 45 min to 1 hour.
Can parents or caregivers participate in therapy sessions?
We use the coaching model during therapy sessions so it is important that a parent, grandparent or regular caregiver be present during sessions as much as possible.
